Farewell to the Class of 2021

TGC —

Over the last two years they’ve zoomed, skyped and studied online, last week our Year 13's said goodbye to school, albeit COVID-style!

Photo Morph video
Thursday marked the last day of timetabled classes for our Year 13 students. Despite a lockdown to start the day a special leavers photo morph video was prepared by our Digital Communications Lead Caroline Gill to show the growth of our students grow from Year 9 to 13 into empowered wāhine toa. If you haven't had an opportunity to see the video be sure to check it out here:

Friday Celebrations
The morning started with a light breakfast, games and presentations before having our staff join our leavers for a fabulous high tea celebration. Students brought along a fancy hat or headpiece as part of the celebrations and it was a wonderful opportunity for our students and staff to spend some time celebrating together.

Thank you to our amazing staff: Robyn Mankelow, Anna Leach, Stefanie Belworthy, and Kaye Barnett for all their valuable work in making this happen!

TV1 News coverage
We had TV1 news join us for the last day celebrations to record snippets throughout the morning which was aired on TV1 news on Friday night. Check out the TV1 news article here.

Special thanks to journalist Sam Kelway for this coverage and providing the opportunity for Talia MacKinnon (Year 12) who has her eye on a career in broadcast journalism to shadow you.
