In the Library
The end of the year is coming, and the Library is looking at doing their stocktake and getting ready for Summer Reading. Which means we need books to be returned.
Senior’s books need to be returned by Friday, 27 October.
Junior’s books need to be returned by Friday, 17 November.
Has your young person received letters, notes and emails from the library saying they have an overdue book? Please ensure that it is returned. There are no fees for overdues. We just want them back.
Can’t find it?
Here are some things you can think about to help you find it;
How big was it?
What colour was it?
Was it thick or thin?
What do you remember about the cover?
Is it hardcover or paperback?
Can’t remember any of these, ask the librarians, we may be able to help!
Here are some places you could look for it;
In the car
In the other car
In the garage
In your backpack
In your sibling's backpack
In your other bag
Under the couch
On your bookshelf
On your desk
In your bedroom
In your sibling's bedroom
In your BFF's bedroom
Under your bed
In the closet
At Grandma/Grandpa’s house or Auntie/Uncle’s or Cuzzies or next door
In the cat or dog’s bed
On the boat
At your sports club
At that place where you had to wait for ages for that thing you were going to so you read to fill time.
You have looked in all the places and still can’t find it? No worries, come and have a chat with the librarians. You can call the library, Ms Middleton, on +64 7 578 8114 ext: 2130 or email her at rmiddleton@tgc.school.nz. We just want the books back.
With the summer holidays coming up, we are preparing our Summer Reading Club. Anyone returning next year can be a part of it. We have some fun things happening, like Mystery Book Bags (the librarians pick 4-5 books we think you will like and put them in a bag) and Summer Book Bingo! Your young person can be a part of it, they just need to collect a permission form from the Library and return it to the library - Seniors by 27 October and Juniors by 17 November.
Books can be picked, and Mystery Book Bags can be collected on Thursday, 30 November and Friday, 1 December.
The Summer Reading Club is open to all returning Students and Staff!
