Supporting our students' well-being and engagement
We welcome our new Senior Leader, Clayton Parai. His focus is to support Year 9 & 10 ākonga Māori through a Te Ao Māori lens. You will often see him out and about on the rugby field, interacting with the students. Later this term, he will introduce targeted programmes to encourage their sense of belonging through whanaungatanga.
Our two youth mentors, Nia Finau and Elena Whinney, are seen at break times supporting our students to be involved in activites. They, too, will be assisting in the mentoring programmes each week.
For further support to the safety and well-being of our students, we welcome our kaiawhina, Whaea Nga.
All are supporting our phone-free kura with activities available at break times. What has been a joy is the increased chatter that can be heard at break times, with 98% of our students meeting this expectation.
