In the Library

TGC Library —

The 2023 Student Librarians

Training for our new Student Librarians finished at the end of Term One with a rather lovely pizza lunch. We have many students this year who are enthusiastic about helping with everything that happens in the Library, which both librarians greatly appreciate.

We collaborated with the international department throughout term one to do an Asian Culture Craft Club. The students made a variety of paper crafts which were put on display. Those that participated in the Craft Club all got prizes.

On the last day of the term, we ran an Easter Craft session where students got to make some cute felt bunnies and paper easter eggs. We love doing these crafts and seeing all the different creations the students create.

The reading challenge is still going strong. In February, March and April, 56 books were read by 20 students and four staff members. Seeing so many people involved and enjoying the challenge and the variety of books read to fulfil the themes is fantastic. We will give out our first round of prizes for the Challenge during Library Week.

May is New Zealand/Aotearoa Music Month. Ms Middleton and the Student Librarians have created a superb display to celebrate.
