Tauranga Girls’ College Expectations for Parents - Uniform

At Tauranga Girls' College, we believe in fostering a sense of mana motuhake/ pride, belonging, and respect among our students, and one important way we do this is through the wearing of our school uniform. It represents the values we uphold as a school community.

As part of our commitment to supporting our students in their educational journey, we ask for your continued support in ensuring that your daughter or young person wears their uniform correctly. This includes wearing it with care, ensuring it is clean, and adhering to the guidelines set out in our school uniform policy

If you require equity support to get your daughter or young person’s uniform correct, please contact the cohort Dean. Further information regarding our uniform can be found on our school website - Tauranga Girls College.

We will be noticing uniform more closely from next week.  We will be in touch with you if we notice your daughter or young person needs more support from you to get this right.

Please support your daughter or young person by making sure they are wearing the correct uniform items to and from kura.  Helping them in this way reinforces our values of mana motuhake and manaakitanga and of our shared commitment to the standards we value.  It also supports positive conversations about being part of 'Team TGC.’

If there is a good reason why your young person does not have the right uniform item, please support them by sending them to kura with a note explaining this.  This will allow the Dean to provide them with a short term uniform pass and to contact you for more information. There is also the opportunity that we can support with uniform if this is an issue through the equity budget.
