This term, we saw some lucky Year 9 - 13 students participate in a Tuakana-Teinā Drama workshop with Massive Theatre Company. Massive is a professional physical ensemble company creating new theatre with emerging and professional actors, directors and writers. Their work comes from real stories, reflecting the rich diversity of Aotearoa. They describe themselves as a pathway, a whānau and a way to create excellent theatre.

Lots of fun and laughs were had, and practical skills were gained. It was a great way to get to know ākonga from different year groups with the same passion.

The same excellent instructors, Ebony and Harmony, who taught us, will be running a FREE 2-day programme in the October school holidays for anyone interested.

This is not a generic drama workshop! Foundations is for those who want to dive deep with grit, grace and gumption to develop their skills as a performer. We will work in the Massive style, which is highly physical and collaborative. You need to be fully committed, curious and eager to learn.
