Senior Geography South Island Trip

Geography —

Senior Geography students travelled to the South Island during the July school holidays.

It was an opportunity for them to experience the environment that they had studied and learned about in class. The trip had been postponed due to Covid-19 and we were fortunate to rebook this trip. It was an action packed trip and for some it was life changing. In the words of students: “To be able to see the actual formations that we learnt about was amazing because it confirmed that it was real. To also be able to see in person how all the processes worked together to create the natural environment, was very interesting.” Flora. “It was absolutely phenomenal... I loved every second of it! The scenery was surreal. From 360 views from Mt John's summit and watching the sunrise over Lake Tekapo from the Church of Good Shepherd to standing right over the Tasman Glacier the views were literally indescribable.” Olivia

The trip was a great success and we were lucky to experience New Zealand’s natural beauty.
