Winter Tournament Week 2024
We had over 110 students participate at various events over New Zealand Secondary School’s winter tournament week which was held from Friday 30 August through to Sunday 8 September.
We were very happy to be sending a Badminton team and Rugby League teams to tournaments for the first time. All teams performed well and as with any sports tournament there were some excellent wins and some heartbreaking losses.
Tauranga Girls’ College are very proud of how our teams conducted themselves of the week and are sure they have made some lifelong memories. Special mention to the TGC Indoor Pairs who took out the silver medal at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Indoor Bowls Championships in Auckland and we wish our premier Basketball team all the best for the New Zealand Secondary Schools Basketball Championships which will be held in the October holidays in Palmerston North.
