Alumni Profile: Hilary Hunt
Hilary Hunt (nee Marston), who did all her secondary schooling at Tauranga Girls' College, was one of the presenters at The Gess Edtech Virtual Summit in Dubai on 24-25 November.
Hilary's present job title is Senior Lead, Teaching & Learning, Victoria International School of Sharjah.She has worked K-12 in New Zealand, Taiwan and the UAE, and lectured at Paris IV-La Sorbonne in Paris. As a Language teacher, digital technology has been a key component of her classroom, and she was the first New Zealand National Examiner of French to trial a fully online external exam.
Hilary is a passionate teacher-mentor and believes that all students should be able to determine their own pathway to educational success. She is a strong voice for student-centric education and research based effective practice. She works with teachers to ensure that their classrooms are modern, future focused learning environments. She believes that Teacher Professional Learning should not be a "one-size fits all" model, but rather, should allow teachers to "choose their own adventure." Technology integration has been key in her approach to providing teacher agency in Professional Learning at VISS.
