On a crisp sunny day in Rotorua, Level 3 Physical Education, Level 3 Sport & Recreation, and Level 2 Outdoor Education participated in the 2023 Tough Gal Tough Guy Challenge. They gained credits from participating and then from an evaluation of their training programme leading to it. Those in L3 PE and Sport & Recreation participated as part of their work for Achievement Standard 3.4, and for L3 PE, it is going towards Achievement Standard 3.3. L2 Outdoor Ed were working on a Unit Standard to show Awhi in a group situation.

The L3 classes gained some great results:

• Ava Barker, Milly Henstock, Liv Marshall, and Mia Quirke can be congratulated for gaining Excellence for AS:3.4 in this event. They demonstrated determination and guts to race hard and come out in the head bunch of their category.

• Sharon Kumar in Sport & Recreation gained a Merit, a proud achievement.

The students had a great time participating with schools from as far away as the Wairarapa and Manurewa. Overall, it was a great day with lots of sun, mud and fun.
