Alumni Spotlight - Megan Robson

TGC —

Classical guitarist Megan Robson is one of two deserving recipients of this year's Christine Tustain Classical Music Award.

Megan is a former student at Tauranga Girls' College, where she says her love of music was fostered.

Since then, Megan has gone on to achieve a Bachelor of Music with Honours from the New Zealand School of Music—Te Kōkī, Victoria University of Wellington and has also won several competitions including New Zealand Aspiring Guitarist of 2020, the New Zealand Classical Guitar Competition 2020 and the SOUNZ prize for Best Performance of a New Zealand Work! 🤩

This year, Megan began a two-year Master of Philosophy degree in Classical Music Performance at the Elder Conservatorium of Music in Adelaide. Megan says this award will support her in continuing to develop as a musician and she ultimately hopes to bring everything she learns back home, to inspire the next generation of great musicians.

Congratulations Megan, and thank you to Acorn donor Chris Tustain for supporting talented young people in our region to develop their musical careers!
