The annual Bay of Plenty Triathlon Championships held in Ohope in February. Unfortunately it was unable to happen last year, so it was great to be back in action this year. 

We had two teams representing Tauranga Girls’ College, who performed well against the tough competition. Some of the other teams we competed againstwere all-boy teams!

Our competitors ran, swam and biked their hearts out. They represented our school with incredible sportsmanship, manaakitanga, mana motuhake and mahi tahi. 

Our teams placed first and second in the All Girls Competion. 

The first placed team was made up of Jess Pilbrow (Yr 12), Amelie Pearson (Yr11), Trelise Chote (Yr 11).

Our second placed team were Ruby Jones (Yr 10), Michaela McNaughten (Yr 10) and Lilah Joe (Yr 10). 

We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments! Ka rawe, well done to everyone involved.
