Year 13 Physical Education Toi Ohomai Trip

Physical Education —

Our Year 13 Physical Education students had a fantastic trip to Toi Ohomai as part of their work for Achievement Standard 91500, through which they will complete an evaluation of their training program for the Tough Gal Challenge Event.

Bethan Adkins volunteered to do a VO2 max test on the treadmill, and her classmates helped the Toi Ohomai staff to administer this test. We were privileged to get to listen to Dr Tracey Clissold speak to us about sports nutrition, especially current and valuable information for female athletes, not the usual information focused on males.

This gave our students relevant information to use during their training, and to help them to evaluate their training program. We also got some interesting information on Sports Psychology, which can be applied to lots of life's situations. Toi Ohomai staff complimented our wonderful Physical Education students for their engagement in learning, and their effort and manners.
