Dance NZ Made
Our NCEA Senior curriculum classes and extracurricular Dance students had a fabulous day at the Tauranga Regional Dance NZ Made competition on Monday 9 August.
There was lots of great learning in the workshop sessions and the opportunity to perform on the Baycourt Stage. For many of our students this was their first time out on the big stage.
The day also saw some of our more seasoned dancers take to the Dance NZ Made stage for the final time. Year 13 students Alysha Gill, Grace Gill, Taylah Pratt, and Sophie Brown have competed in the competition for the past 6 years.
The day was also full of memories for departing teacher Caroline Gill who has attended with our students since the event started here in Tauranga in 2015.
“I remember entering our first TGC teams back in 2015. It’s heartwarming to see how Dance in our Kura and in Tauranga Moana has grown in this time”
Congratulations to the following students who received awards:
⭐ Level 2 Dance Class: 2nd Place, Yr 11-13 teams
⭐ Level 1 Dance Class: Choreography Award
⭐ Ave Almandoz: Dance NZ Made Golden Ticket
