Tauranga Girls’ College Expectations for Parents - Uniform

TGC Senior Leadership Team —

As a kura we value your support and the important role you play in the learning and education of your daughter. At our kura we value manaakitanga, mana motuhake and mahi tahi, respect, pride and participation. As we work together to empower your daughter for her future, we look to you for support where these values are concerned.

Our expectations are that you can support us as we seek to ensure our learners are wearing their uniform with pride and respect. Over the next few weeks at kura, we will be paying uniform particular attention. Below are some clarifications for you as whānau about what the items of our uniform should be.

We will be noticing uniform more closely from next week. We will be in touch with you if we notice your young person needs more support from you to get this right.

Please support your young person by making sure they are wearing the correct uniform items to and from kura. Helping them in this way reinforces our values of mana motuhake and manaakitanga and of our shared commitment to the standards we value. It also supports positive conversations about being part of 'Team TGC.’

If there is a good reason why your young person does not have the right uniform item, please support them by sending them to kura with a note explaining this. This will allow the Dean to provide them with a short term uniform pass and to contact you for more information.

If you require any assistance with uniform items, please speak with your young person’s Whānau teacher in the first instance.
