Tauranga Girls’ College has six filmmakers as NZ’s Top 16 Finalists 2023

The IYSFF is a global competition that challenges young filmmakers from across the United States of America, Australia, The United Arab Emirates, and New Zealand. The aim is to create a three-minute silent film set to one of 10 musical scores composed especially for the festival. 

CONGRATULATIONS to six Tauranga Girls’ College filmmakers who were selected as finalists for their films with nominations for many individual awards categories such as Best Director, Best Female Filmmaker, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Shot, and Best Poster Design.

⭐ Maea Wikohika’s film ‘Girl In Canvas’ has been nominated for six awards categories

⭐ Tearani Wikohika’s film, ‘Her’has been nominated for four awards categories

⭐ Zoe Samson’s film, ‘Atelophobia’ has been nominated for five awards categories

⭐ Savahna Munro’s film Crowded Thoughts has been nominated for two awards categories

⭐ Leah Swindell’s film, ‘Lover's Waltz’ has been nominated for three awards categories;

⭐ Ella Lambert’s film Crystals in The Shadows has been nominated for four awards categories

The NZ National IYSFF Final Awards 2023 will be held at the Baycourt Community and Arts Centre on 2 November at 7 pm.
