We had five teams representing Tauranga Girls’ College in the senior Bay of Plenty qualifying tournament on Friday, 16 June. It was a hectic time for all our players, each getting over ten matches throughout the day. We had some excellent results, and at this stage, we think at least three of our teams will go through to play in the Bay of Plenty Championships on August 16.

Seeing our students interacting so well with the other schools was great. There was great excitement when our Div 1 team played Bethlehem and Otumoetai Colleges. Many of these students play together in Bay of Plenty representative teams, so the competition is fierce! This time we came out on top after a countback of points.

Div 1 and 2 Girls:

- First place - Jin Lee, Prachi Patel, Anjali Pillay

- Fourth place - KP Pitakum, Erina Islam, Princess Jewel Tolentino, Jiyoung Kim

Div 3 Girls:

- Second place - Mia Corney, Tania Ellis, Niamh Manning and Caitlyn Williams

- Fourth place - Summer Bailey, Paige Rickard, Tori Hill, Bri Lewitt

- Fifth place - Alisa Renz, Eden Brown, Riya Tuhi-Singh, Nhi Do
