Decision Reach Out Toromai Trust

TGC —

Decision Reach Out Toromai Trust offered the school four fully paid scholarships to Year 12 students to travel to Hillary Outdoor Pursuit Center in Tongariro to spend five days doing a variety of leadership and teamwork activities with students from other schools in the area.

Eight students were interviewed and the standard of applicants was so high that the trust gave each of the eight girls a scholarship.

Four students are travelling to Tongariro in July and the other four are going in December.

The successful candidates were:

  • Jayzel Borlaza
  • Bella Cook
  • Jess Cotterill
  • Abigail Foreman
  • Jordyn Gaby
  • Marysa Pope
  • Casey Rendell
  • Katie Hills
"The application process was very easy to follow, I created a slideshow about why I thought I would be a good candidate for the experience. I found the interview very nerve-racking but Mr Brain, Ms Somerville and Charlotte were understanding and made it more of an enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend applying for these opportunities.

I would like to thank the Decision Reach Out Toromai Trust for giving all eight of us that had interviews this amazing opportunity! I am beyond excited to take part in this experience."

"All of us at Decision Reach Out Toromai Trust believe you are all deserving recipients of this opportunity and will all be fantastic role models for Tauranga Girls' College."
Errol Brain, Trustee of Decision Reach out Toromai Trust.
