Luminosa Armonia Chorale was selected to represent Tauranga at the Upper North Island Cadenza after winning two major awards at the regional Big Sing Festival in June.

In a culmination of nine months' worth of hard work for all the competing groups, on the 14 - 15 August, the Luminosa Armonia Chorale travelled to Sir Howard Morrison Theatre in Rotorua to compete in this year’s Big Sing Cadenza.

Over those two days, twelve choirs performed a variety of their repertoire, heard their fellow choirs perform in a beautiful display of quality music, participated in several massed workshops with the competition adjudicator where they learnt a lot and enjoyed the camaraderie of other choristers from around the country.

A gala concert on the final night finished the event with a showcase of song and dance and the allocation of awards. Luminosa Armonia’s hard work paid off, with them bringing home a coveted Tui (the Cadenza equivalent of Gold).

Well done, Luminosa; you have certainly earned it!
