Tauranga Girls’ College Joins the Student Volunteer Army.

Tauranga Girls' College is pleased to announce that we have registered to be a part of the Student Volunteer Army (SVA).

The SVA grew from a response by students at the University of Canterbury to assist the local community following the Christchurch earthquake in 2010. Today the SVA is an educational charity run for students, by students, focused on providing meaningful volunteering opportunities. By downloading the SVA App on your device you can record your service hours and gain service awards.Students at Tauranga Girls’ College can log their service hours and gain National Awards through the Student Volunteer Army App.

Getting Logged into the Student Volunteer Army App.

How to Log in

Step 1: Download the SVA App on your device. Enter your email address and you will receive a verification email asking you to confirm your account.

Step 2: Enter your personal details. Click on the gear

icon in the top right to view your name, phone number,

ID and Educational Institution (TGC), skills and availability

and emergency contact details. Fill in all fields and make

sure all your information is up to date.

Click update to save your details.

Logging your volunteer hours

Step 1: After you have logged into the SVA App, click on the floating action button followed by log an activity.

Step 2: Fill out each of the required fields to begin recording

your activities and volunteering hours.

Step 3: These activities will then show up in your completed

Activities as well as populating your service record.

Earning SVA Service Award pins

Step 1: To earn SVA Service Award pins all you have to do is log your volunteer hours
