On Wednesday 4 August our two Junior Competitive Badminton Teams, who qualified through from the Western Bay of Plenty Championships in Term Two, represented TGC at the BOP Champs. Both teams came home with Gold Medals.

TGC Blue competed in Division Two and TGC White were in Division Three. Once it was announced by the organisers that all divisions would be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals, both teams were determined to place. The players performed their skills effectively and applied the tactics and strategies coached by Badminton BOP Development Officer, Tarryn Espitalier, who had run sessions with them prior to this event. Both teams were extremely focussed on playing their best badminton in both their singles and doubles combinations. This attitude paid off as it played a big role in getting both teams to the finals and finishing the day as the Division Two and Division Three Champions. Ka mau te wehi and congratulations!
