Visiting Poets

Asmita Pathak —

On Friday 12 August, our Level 2 English students were lucky to have two visiting poets, Carrie Rudzinski and Olivia Hall, do spoken poetry for them.

The poets were here in Tauranga doing their new show ‘Hysterical’ which is about allowing oneself to cry and let out every and any emotion they feel without guilt. Their poems are empowering, which helps support our school motto of "empowering tomorrow's women". They inspired our Level 2 and 3 English students, and spoke about many relatable things such as knowing siblings and embracing them, to crying over Manchester football.

All of our ākonga who attended had a fantastic time. Thank you Carrie and Olivia for sharing your work and your laughter with us!
