Tauranga Girls' College IYSFF Award Winners

TGC - Film —

Thursday, 2 November, was a big night for Tauranga Girls’ College filmmakers at the International Youth Silent Film Festival NZ Awards, as they picked up five major IYSFF NZ Awards and two additional recognitions.

The IYSFF is a global competition that challenges young filmmakers from across the United States of America, Australia, Europe, The United Arab Emirates and New Zealand. The aim is to create a three-minute silent film set to one of ten musical scores composed especially for the festival.

The top sixteen films for NZ were played on the big screen at Baycourt with a large group of our girls, their families,

friends and actors in the audience, bringing energy and cheering for all of the filmmakers. ️

Our award winners are:

⭐ Tearani Wikohika

  • Second Place IYSFF NZ for her film ‘Her’. She now competes in the Global Awards in Portland, Oregon, in July 2024.
