This year the Maths department has had students achieve over numerous competitions.

New Zealand Maths Olympiad: This is a high level Mathematics competition for any year 9 -13 students across New Zealand. We had 2 students enter:

Livi Lim Year 9 gained a Participation Certificate and Kyla Chen Year 12 gained a Silver award. Kyla has also been invited to participate in the Maths Olympiad Camp in January 2025, where she has a chance to get into the New Zealand team. We wish her all the best of luck for this.

Kyla has also been invited to sit the British Mathematics Olympiad in November. Well done Kyla.

Senior Mathematics Competition: Another competition open to all Senior Mathematics students across New Zealand. We entered one team of 3 students for this. They gained a Merit award. The students in the team are: Kyla Chen Year 12, Jimin Lee Year 13 and Erina Islam Year 13. Well done to all of them.

ICAS Mathematics: This competition is across Australasia with over 16000 students participating in various subject competitions. The following students competed in Mathematics:

Year 9: Haeun Lim Distinction

Jiwon Park Participation

Year 10: Yeongseo Choi Distinction

Year 11: Eunseo Mo Credit
