A group of 9 runners represented TGC at the National Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships held in Whangārei on Saturday 14th June.

The athletes were Tess Baxter, Zoe Omundsen, Sienna Scott, Sylvie Mayston, Oona Hepburn, Molly Mayston, Heidi Rickard, Nina Varley, and Maia Poutawera. 

Over 650 athletes from more than 125 schools from across the country participated in this event and our students ran well in very strong fields. They can be proud of their placings.

The following day our students were selected to represent Waikato/BOP in the Regional Relay races, which are held the next day. Tessa Baxter came away with a gold medal in the Year 9 female relay and Molly Mayston got a bronze in the Junior mixed team. 

We look forward to next year's event in Wellington as we continue to build our cross-country team.
