EPro8 Challenge BOP/Waikato

TGC —

We are pleased to share that we have four teams moving into the semifinals round of the EPro8 Challenge BOP/Waikato!

During the heats, our senior teams 299 792 458 m / s +1 (Faster than the speed of light) and The Music Department took out first and second, respectively. Four, Wha, Mẹrin, Char and The Loose Screws took out third and fourth in their heat.

299 792 458 m / s +1 (Faster than the speed of light) are our returning champions from the previous two years, and they clocked the highest score of both heats. The junior heat involved additional excitement, with The Loose Screws tying for 4th position with two other teams and only four teams going into the semifinals. Our team had to compete in a sudden-death challenge to secure their place.

Some of the challenges our teams completed included a motorised car wash, pendulum clock, storm-proofed scale model of a classroom and a giant rat wheel complete with cheese on a motorised vehicle as bait.

The students in these teams are:

299 792 458 m / s +1: Jin Lee, Erina Islam, Gayathri Dinesh and Kyla Chen

The Music Department: Amelia Grason, Sophie Crowther, Skylar Sargisson, Hannah Aspey

Four, Wha, Mẹrin, Char: Aliyah Aliyu, Alexis Harrison, Ruby Kaur Deo, Hollie Andrew

The Loose Screws: Savanna Singh, Libby Morrell, Alize Ball, Stephanie Mcheachen

These teams will be travelling to the semifinals held at the University of Waikato in Hamilton in June.

Thanks to our sponsors Kirk Roberts Engineering, WSP and LawVu for their generous support with the registration fees.
