Tanisha Bhikha —

Tanisha Bhikha Year 10 Art Painting project

For our Art project, we were asked to find a Whakatauki that resonated with us. The one I choose was “Foster the pathway of knowledge to strength, independence and growth for future generations.” Our plan was to create a diorama with at least three layers and to create a 3D sculptural painted artwork. The art I created represents the key parts of my Whakatauki. The mother and the daughter represent the future generations and the walking on the beach represents the pathways you take with your loved ones. The frame has been created to give the effect of an old fashion wood frame that could sit on a loving family's fireplace or where their family photos accumulate. The whole perspective I was going for was love and family with the soft colours on the flowers.
