We have been working on creating dioramas inspired by a whakataukī of our choice.

My diorama is inspired by the whakataukī:

Whakapai paihia tēnei manu ki ngā huruhuru kia rere ai.

Adorn this bird with feathers, so it may fly.

It is a whakataukī about being able to help others out so they can flourish, and I think it is a good message to share with everyone.

The diorama has three layers, and we had to paint each layer individually. Once the painting was completed, the different layers were stuck together with hot glue and straws.

My favourite part of the project was the painting. Seeing it come to life before our eyes was fun, and I like how it turned out, considering I don’t paint that often.
