Tauranga Racecourse Reserve

TCC —

Tauranga City Council is looking at the future use of the Tauranga Racecourse Reserve on Cameron Road in Greerton which is currently used for a racecourse, golf club, events and equestrian activities. The total reserve land area is 85ha – about the size of 100 rugby fields – and could be used for other activities as the city continues to grow. The community has told us loud and clear it doesn’t want housing on the site because it wants to keep our green spaces green. There are now three options to choose from, including the council’s preferred option of a mixture of a new public hospital (current hospital site could be used for housing instead), parkland, sports fields, golf, a community and sports centre, events space, and connections to Kopurererua Valley. Feedback on the three options is open until 5pm, Monday 29 August. See the options and give feedback at www.tauranga.govt.nz/greertonmaarawaewae
