Gateway —

SEEDS is a Gateway program for secondary school students, to give them valuable retail work experience in a supermarket environment, while earning credits towards NCEA.

Students learn transferable skills such as customer service, personal presentation, food safety, product knowledge and teamwork.

Year 12 Tauranga Girls’ College students, Alize Bowring-Smith and Amia Elder, have recently started their store placement at the Bureta Countdown store, one day per week. They receive support from Carolyn at ServiceIQ, who are the industry training organisation for the aviation, hospitality, retail, travel, tourism and museums sectors.
