Our Junior Badminton teams played in the Western BOP Qualifying tournament at the QE2 on Friday, 19 May. These girls can be congratulated for their excellent organisation and resilience as our teams were ravaged by covid and other illnesses and disrupted training times owing to rolling teacher strikes. We managed to re-group in time to enter three teams.

This was the first Badminton tournament many of these girls had played in. They played many games, learnt a lot, and had fun. Everyone represented Tauranga Girls’ College with pride.

We look forward to the next tournament, where some of these girls will compete against schools from the Bay of Plenty region.
