NZSS Swimming

TGC —

A team of 12 students represented the Tauranga Girls’ College at the NZSS Swimming championships at the Sir Owen Glenn National Aquatic Centre in Auckland on 25th - 28th July.

The team included Trelise Chote, Renee Dresner, Alivia Jenkins, Bella-May Martin, Amelie Pearson, Tetsani Poroa-Thompson, Arianna Roberts 

Carina Roberts, Tahlia Roscoe, Annabelle Smith, Lily Smith, and Maddy van Vliet. 

Our students took part in very competitive races with many featuring over 200 swimmers. Many of our swimmers achieved personal bests in their event. We were well-represented in relay events and narrowly missed a podium finish by margins of a second.

Strong results in the relays included 

5th in the 4 x 100m Freestyle - Carina, Madelene, Renee and Lily 

5th in the 2 x 50m Freestyle - Carina and Arianna 

Top 10 finishes in their age groups included 

Renee Dresner - 4th in the 50m Fly,4th in her 50m Fly and 5th in the 400m Free,5th in the 200m Back, 6th in the 100m Fly and 9th in 100m Back

Arianna Roberts - 6th in 100m free

TreliseChote -  6th in the 200m Free

Tetsani Poroa-Thompson -  8th in the 50m Breast.  

Madelene van Vliet -  9th in 100m Back.
