The Library entered the Out On the Shelves Pride Month Library Display. Our bright display got second place in the Secondary School section! Thank you to our wonderful Student Librarians who helped to put it together and make the hundreds of flowers!

August 9 was the International Day of the World’s Indigenous People. We created a display which looks at a small selection of indigenous groups from around the world.

We decided to celebrate dragons in literature with a Dragon display! It was fantastic to find all the different stories with dragons in them and to see just how international dragons are; almost every culture has a lizard-like creature which can be classified as a dragon! 

During one lunchtime, we even created some dragon eggs out of foam eggs and thumb-tacks. They looked fantastic, and you would never guess they were made from pins.

Cook Island Language Week has also happened this term, and some students put together an incredible display to celebrate it. We love exploring the different languages and cultures that make up our kura and look forward to those still coming this year.

We welcome the return of any of our books, no matter how overdue. If you receive a letter from us asking for a book's return, please make sure the book makes its way back to the school or contact Ms Middleton (rmiddleton@tgc.school.nz). Some good places to look for missing books are: Under the bed, on the bookshelf, in the car or the school bag. We want to ensure everyone who wants to read a book can.

A reminder that we do have NCEA Study Guides for all subjects taught at Tauranga Girls’ College and for all year levels. They can be borrowed for three weeks.

You can also search our catalogue to see what books, eBooks and Audiobooks we have and are available. You will also find great resources to search for information for research and projects. Students can also use their school ID to log in and check the due dates for any books they have out.
