On Thursday 6 August, the Year 11 Social Science class went to Rotorua for the day.

We had the opportunity to experience the Heritage Farm Tour, the 3D Art Gallery Tour, the Rotorua Duck Tours and also had the opportunity to go Zorbing. We went on this trip to see what tourists can experience around Rotorua, and to get an idea of what the topic of ‘Work Roles in Tourism’ is really all about.

I personally really enjoyed our trip to Rotorua. There were so many tourist attractions that we visited whilst on our short stay and our Rotorua Duck Tour guide had a great sense of humour.

I learnt a lot about the dormant volcanoes that surround Rotorua and about the endangered duck species that inhabit Rotorua's lakes. Overall, it was a great day out!
