Applications for Futures Academy courses

Applications for Futures Academy courses, the Gateway classes at Levels 2 and 3 and the Gateway Experience, closed on September 2nd. Prior to this a lunchtime workshop was held to explain the differences between each programme and student expectations were outlined. Rangatahi were given the relevant application forms, which were to be completed, signed by whanau and returned to Pathways staff.

Interviews, some one on one, others in small groups will be held beginning the week of 15th September. Pathways staff and the year Level Dean will be involved.

With Futures Academy courses, the providers make the decision about who is offered a place. Gateway is an in school selection process. 

Timelines for Trades Academy places are dependent on the Trident Trades Academy as the organisers and facilitators. They have indicated that the decisions will be made available in late November or worst case scenario early 2026.
