Spirit Of Adventure Five Day Trophy Trip

Peyton Bond —

I was lucky to go on the Spirit Of Adventure 5-day trophy trip. It was an experience I will forever be grateful for and will never forget.

Being woken up at 6.30 am for the early morning swim was not everybody's idea of fun, but by the last day, we all looked forward to it to see the beautiful sunrise and to feel that shock of the cold water one last time.

Each day we had different activities: Rafting, mini Olympics, tennis ball challenge, etc.

Climbing the mast was one of my favourite things on the Spirit. Being on the five-day voyage, we only got to go halfway up. I am so thankful that the crew allowed us to go up. We sailed every day, and it was our job to put the sails up. 2,6... heave!! And off we went with the wind until we reached our destination for the night.

The Spirit Of Adventure was the best experience. I am thankful to my parents, who allowed me to have this opportunity that the school chose me to go and grateful to the other 39 girls on that boat who made the experience even better. This was a week I wish I could relive. Anyone who has the privilege to go is so lucky. You make forever friends and unforgettable memories.

Thank you to Charlotte, Kaea, Jorja, Pono, Kate, Millie, Brooke, Carina and Indy.
