On Saturday 22 August Maraea Puru competed at the IPLNZ Powerlifting Nationals in Hamilton.

Maraea squatted 140kg, bench pressed 57.5kg and deadlifted 145kg  giving her an overall Junior National record combined in the J1 class (15-19 year old) and placing her 1st in her class and 3rd overall in Junior division (15-23 year old).

Congratulations Maraea, this is an outstanding result.
