After a very different start to the year with Dance Troupes, which included online audition submissions, no dancing indoors for term 1, dancing with masks on and many other challenges it was incredible to see our Contemporary Dance Troupe travel down to Palmerston North to compete at the Performing Arts Competition Associate of New Zealand, National Young Performer Awards. The troupe was one of only four school troupes nominated to compete at this event against 84 other troupes, which came from some of the top dance studios in the country. The group performed their hearts out and only narrowly missed being in the finals. They came away with an overall placing of 23rd, an outstanding achievement. We would like to thank and congratulate their two student leaders Ajah Cameron and Ayva McOnie.
