Congratulations to all the Tauranga Girls’ College musicians who played their way to the awards podium last Friday at the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Regional Band and Orchestra Festival.

This Festival draws in school bands and orchestras from throughout the region, and the school ensembles rehearse for months in preparation for this event. Tauranga Girls’ College entered four groups this year. They had a fabulous day playing for a series of adjudicators and returned with a raft of awards for their fine performances.

The Symphonic band received a Gold award and a Merit award. The String Ensemble Received a Silver Award. The Percussion Ensemble and the Big Band both received Gold Awards.
