TGC Academic Achievement

TGC —

Whilst we value the achievement of all students and in a variety of ways, we also take this time to celebrate the academic achievement of our students in Scholarship and NCEA from 2022.

We are proud of the achievements of our learners given that Term 1 of school was hugely disrupted by the Omicron variant of COVID-19, and this was during the period of the 10-day isolation requirement. Many students lost learning opportunities, and given this was their third year of disruption, we know that staff and students worked very hard to attain the results we did. Even the MoE recognised at a national level the disruption to learning. The results for Tauranga Girls' College are mostly above the national data and the data for other Girls' schools.

Congratulations to our students working towards their crucial Literacy and Numeracy creditsLiteracy & Numeracy: 89.5% achieved L1 Literacy (National Data ‘22 = 81.4%), and in Numeracy 86.4% achieved L1 Numeracy (National Data '22 = 80.3%)

NCEA Level 1 79.9% (National Girls Data 65.6%)NCEA Level 2 84.9% (National Girls Data 75.9%)NCEA Level 3 68.5% (National Girls Data (70.1%)

Scholarships - 14 students gained scholarship results and in a range of subject areas. This is an additional exam that students can choose to enter and over and above their NCEA Level 3 workload.
