Senior Prizegivings Monday 15 November 2021

TGC —

This week we celebrated the academic efforts and success of our senior students as well as their commitment to service and giving back to their kura and community.

We began these celebrations by recognising those students whose dedication and commitment in the classroom led to their being first in their Year group in each of our subject areas. We also acknowledged those students whose efforts stretch beyond expectation and who are recognised for diligence as a result of this.

Not only do we celebrate academic success at these ceremonies, we also celebrate those students in our kura who embody our values of manaakitanga, mahi tahi and mana motuhake; respect, participation and pride. Beyond the classroom, these students have given back to their kura through service.

Service to others is both actively encouraged and highly valued at Tauranga Girls' College. We are always amazed by the enthusiasm, effort, energy and dedication of these students. They inspire us all as we seek to be part of something bigger than ourselves and to “take others across the line with us”; a culture encouraged by our Tumuaki and certainly lived by the students acknowledged in this celebration.
