Road Safety - 22nd Avenue and Cameron Road
Jay Walking
Thank you to all of our students who use the footpaths and crossings around our kura respectfully and carefully.
Recently, we have become concerned about the number of students “Jaywalking” across 22nd Avenue, rather than using the “Pedestrian Strip” to New World, or at the end of the day to catch Bay Hopper buses. Our learners are at risk of being hit by cars, who struggle to see them as they cross without the support of the traffic lights and on very busy roads.
Please can you speak with your young person and encourage them to
Use the allocated crossings
Cross with care
Take their time to navigate these spaces.
Thank you for helping us to keep your learner safe.
Car Parking
A big thank you to our year 12 and year 13 students who are parking on the unlined areas of the roads around our school. Well done. A reminder to all students that:
There is no allocated parking for students on our site
You are not able to park on grass verges (this is a Tauranga City Council rule and is fineable)
