Chinese Luna New Year Celebration

On Friday, 16 February, at Tauranga Girls' College, we had a beautiful afternoon where selected Year 10 students celebrated Chinese New Year at lunchtime. 

Ākonga at the event were fortunate to see traditional Chinese dances performed by the Tauranga Chinese Cultural Arts Dance Group. Everyone was incredibly supportive of the entertainers and enjoyed all the performances on display. Some of the students got involved in celebrating Chinese New Year by making delicious dumplings from scratch and selling them to students and teachers. Completely selling out by the end of lunchtime, it was clear that the dumplings were a massive hit among students.

Overall, the celebration was filled with smiles and laughter as Tauranga Girls' College celebrated the Chinese Luna New Year together as a Kura.
