Yeah, we feel you man.
You may have noticed that when you create your awesomely fantastic newsletters, websites and other publications with Hail that you are finding yourself asking that same question when you view your perfectly composed images.
Those very same images that seem to magically adapt to any device, seamlessly, yet still manage to retain the true essence of the shot. No heads chopped off, no seagulls in shots where smiling children should be?
That's because our clever developers spent many hours perfecting a smart Hail feature called auto face detection. It's something we are pretty proud of.
If your image contains a human face Hail will automatically recognize that and make that face the focal point of the image. Meaning that no matter what screen you view your content on, the focal point will remain the same, independent of device or screen size.
You can view that very same image in an article or publication on your mobile phone, tablet, desktop or laptop and that image will still retain its true essence. The main subject will still maintain it's prize spot, and your content will continue to look the way you intended.
Sweet as.
Sometimes your shots are not of people though, so we also have that covered. Every time you add an image to Hail you will notice on your dashboard that you have the ability to add important metadata to each shot. Alongside this metadata you will also see that there is the option to select a focal point. While Hail will automatically detect a face and make that the focal point for you, you still have creative license to choose your own focal point, which comes in handy when there are cows or trees instead of people in your shots.
Happy snapping ☺︎
