Mai i te Tumuaki | From the Chair
🗨️ Treating yourself and those close to you.
E ngā mana, e ngā reo, e ngā karangatanga maha, ngā mihi maioha ki a koutou - warmest greetings to you all.
Earlier this year, we sought your input on the draft statement about treating yourself and those close to you. The feedback we received provided valuable insights into the challenges you face and helped guide the final version of the statement. As a result, we’ve made adjustments aimed at supporting your practice while maintaining patient care standards.
The revised statement acknowledges the realities many of you encounter, such as managing minor ailments or addressing unique challenges in rural and remote areas. Our approach seeks a balance between respecting your professional judgement and keeping patient safety at the forefront.
For more information about what has changed and how it may impact your practice, I encourage you to read our article detailing feedback from the profession and Council’s response [here]. It covers the specifics of the statement and addresses common concerns.
Your input has been instrumental in shaping this update, and we hope it offers clarity and support in your practice. Thank you for your ongoing engagement and commitment to patient care.

Nō reira, kia haere haumaru tonu koutou i ō koutou mahi, i ō koutou kāinga. Kia manawanui.
