Every year, the Council acknowledges the achievements of doctors undergoing prevocational training and clinical educators.

The Te Tāura Taiea, Aotearoa | New Zealand Intern of the Year Award is presented to an intern who has significantly contributed to the field of prevocational medical education and training.

The Te Ahorangi Taiea, Aotearoa | New Zealand Clinical Educator of the Year Award is presented to a clinical educator who has made a substantial impact on the teaching of interns in PGY1 and PGY2.

These esteemed award recipients were the official New Zealand nominees for the Confederation of Postgraduate Medical Education Council’s (CPMEC) awards. The CPMEC award nominees were recognised during the Australian and New Zealand Prevocational Medical Education Forum held in Perth in November.
