Kapa Haka Wows Ranfurly

Nicola Eka —

"I heard the singing and it was so amazing, the acoustics were incredible - I just had to come up!"

These were the words of one of the Ranfurly Residents who were treated to a sunshine filled full Kapa Haka performance in the last week of Term 3. After being welcomed in Te Reo Māori by Ranfurly Resident and ex Principal Tom, the Kapa Haka responded with waiata and dance, much to the appreciation of the crowd. As the perfomance went on, residents came out onto the balconies and decks and joined the crowd of around 40 residents. Tom left us with a piece of advice which he called 10, 2 letter words "If it is to be, it is up to me".

Kia Ora to Mrs Gray, Whaea Annie and Whaea Louise for their hard work and support with the visit.
