Cell phones and other digital devices

John Waller —

Just a reminder that the Board of Trustees new policy around student cell phones and other digital devices that can send and/or receive texts and calls comes into affect in Term 2.

As we are sure you will be aware the government has mandated that students are not to have access to cell phones in school. The Board of Trustees has revised the current school policy to include other digital devices that can send and receive texts and calls.

Students who need to bring a phone to school have always been required to hand it in to their teacher at the beginning of the school day. This will continue to be the case, the main change to the policy is around the access to comunication capable wearable tech. We are asking students not to bring these devices to school.

The full policy is available to view on Schooldocs. Search for - Cell phones and other digital devices

If you feel there is a reason your child needs access to such a device during school hours please contact one of the acting principals to apply for an exception.
