Science in a Van - Billy Goats and Flying Chickens
This term our topic/concept is Science and Three Kings School had the privilege of having the ‘Science in the Van roadshow’ over two days. They were able to inspire our staff and students with a fun and engaging approach to science.
The team provided two different shows to cater for our Years 1 – 3 using the ‘Billy Goat’s Gruff’ story to engage in Science and for our Years 4 – 6 students ‘Movement’ which they all thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks to Emily and Allan the Science in the Van Team.
Bernice, Sagana and Carys in Room 17 wrote this about their experience.
‘Bang!’ the chicken rocket flew across the stage spraying water everywhere. On Monday, 2nd Aug, Year 5 and 6 students went to the hall to see a show called ‘Science in a Van.’ 2 presenters, Emily and Allen and 1 chicken called Steve, explained about Sir Isaac Newton’s 3 laws of motion. We learnt about how things won’t move without force. We saw a magic trick we are all going to try at home. There were lots of jokes that made us all smile. It was fun and everyone enjoyed it.
