Nicola Eka —

Make sure these are marked in your diary

The last day of school for 2023 is Friday 15 December - please note that school will close at 12.30pm this day.

The first school day for 2024 is Wednesday 7th February - this will be our first ever Whakawhanaungatanga Day.

WHAKAWHANAUNGATANGA DAY 2024

In 2024 we will be holding a Whakawhanaungatanga Day to start the new year off right.

What is Whakawhanaungatanga?

Whakawhanaungatanga is the process of establishing meaningful, authentic relationships. Through our work on Culturally Sustaining pedagogy we know that whanaungatanga underpins all teaching and learning.

Why is this important?

Working in Partnership to build and nurture meaningful relationships and connections through open communication and authentic interactions.

This will allow us to have authentically high expectations for all learners, ensure our curriculum is connected to individual culture, language and identity and learning is purposeful and relevant to all.

How will this work?

There will be 10 min bookable connection based sessions for whānau. These will take place at the beginning of the school year. The aim of these sessions will be to begin to build partnerships and to gain a shared understanding of whānau goals, aspirations, learning strengths and challenges for their child.

Further information including the booking code will be provided with information about your child's teacher for next year.  This will be sent home on the Monday of the last week of school - Monday 11th December.
